This makes no sense to me whatsoever, but apparently there was not enough interest in the girl's soccer team to sustain it as a competitive athletic team. Or even as an intramural sport.

While my former school did not compete with other schools, we still had enough interest in the sport that we had enough for several teams. But then we did not separate the teams by gender.

This is ridiculous.
