II.

Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if I've moved to the court of a Roman emperor.

If I must be an ass, that would be preferable, oui. There are apparently gangster movies on a laser projector in the labs, if you would like to avoid more Roman debauchery.

room for everyone, though bring comfy chairs!

I do not know what a gangster movie is, but it does seem like a better offer than reading more books from the library.

Crime and violence, I believe. What are you reading?

[identity profile] xp-magma.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds far more interesting than this. I am reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

[identity profile] xp-northstar.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
I fell asleep three times before giving up on that book.

[identity profile] xp-magma.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
It is pretty boring, I will admit.

[identity profile] xp-northstar.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:23 am (UTC)(link)
There is a version with zombies that is not so boring but terrible for other reasons.

[identity profile] xp-northstar.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
Oui. Zombies. There is a ball with dancing and then there are swords and zombies and then they go home.

[identity profile] xp-magma.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
That would at least make the story more interesting.

[identity profile] xp-northstar.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
It did, certainly. If nothing else, you must admire the zombie author's mimicry of Austen's dry style.

[identity profile] xp-magma.livejournal.com 2015-08-31 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
I will let you know how I find it, once I have read it.

I am so -so- SO sorry. I mean like, I know not my fault, but man, Jane Austen is the instant cure for insomnia.

Zombies make everything better!

Except when they don't.

She is included on many lists on the internet of authors to read, so I thought I should try her.

Would you have any suggestions about who would be good to read?

[identity profile] x-invisiblegirl.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
Stories about America in the past when the mafia ruled the roost.

[identity profile] xp-magma.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
I see. They sound interesting, I do not know a lot about America history.

[identity profile] x-invisiblegirl.livejournal.com 2015-08-30 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
Movies are definitely the most fun way to learn about history. Just take it with a pinch of salt, it's a lot more enrapturing than text books though.

[identity profile] xp-magma.livejournal.com 2015-08-31 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
A pinch of salt? I'm afraid I do not know what this means, as I am presuming you are not being literal.
